The President of the National Organization for Women discusses persistent women's wage inequality, with particular emphasis on women of color and female-headed households. We agree that income inequality is a serious and growing problem in this country, going beyond the high-profile examples of CEOs taking home obscene amounts of money, to the concerns of regular people everywhere.
That said, these are complex problems and the longer-term solutions she advocates, e.g., a government jobs program, even if approved tomorrow, are not likely to be fully implemented any time soon.
Fortunately, every one of us can do something about income inequality right now:
